Mr. Jeff Deckert

I have been teaching in Chinook’s Edge School Division for the past 13 years and am excited to be back in grade 6 this year. This is my eighth year at Penhold Elementary School and I have had a lot of fun working with the students and getting to watch the school and community grow. I have a lot of fun with my students and enjoy the caring and nurturing nature of our school community. Before joining Penhold Elementary School I spent 6 years teaching at River Glen School working with a variety of students in grades 3 through 6.

I am originally from Ponoka and currently live on an acreage south of town with my wife Kristy and my two young boys, Jase who is seven and Luke who is four. As well as teaching I have other passions that I follow in my personal life, including my love of sports and the outdoors. I enjoy staying active by waterskiing, snowboarding, playing golf and spend much of my spare time camping and fishing in the summer.

I am looking forward to another fun and successful year at Penhold Elementary School!
